The book is about an uplifting journey that a little black boy experiences with understanding and accepting his difference. It has a wonderful message and highlights moments in our meeting in regards to inter-sectional, socialization, colorism and support. Just remember that?

A great story with beautiful illustrations and an amazing, necessary message of self love and confidence that ALL children of all ages should read or have read to them.

My son (13) saw it on the table this morning after it was delivered, picked it up and read it and really loved the story and it’s message, illustration art and mini science lesson!

I will be reading this plenty to my baby nephew, and picking up some copies for the little ones in my life.

    A book worth reading.

Great Book ! Received it from my brother, and read It to my daughter and she loved it. The book gets a bit repetitive when talking about the main character’s “hate for his skin”. But overall, it’s a great book for helping children of ALL shades of brown feel comfortable and love the skin they are in. I particularly liked the part the gave a mini explanation of the power of melanin. We are ready for the Girl Version!
